Newbury, Ohio - Distribution Technologies Inc. (DistTech), an established industry leader in dedicated and common carriage for liquid bulk commodities, recently promoted Karen Rizzuto to the post of Director of National Accounts and Central Logistics. In her new role, Rizzuto is responsible not only for directing and planning the operations of the company's Central Logistics function but also for contract maintenance of business development, rating of common carriage and marketing activities.

Rizzuto, who earned a dual degree in Marketing and Logistics, joined DistTech in 2000 as a Logistics Analyst and was promoted to Senior Logistics Analyst in 2002 - working on site for DistTech's largest customer and attaining an intimate understanding of supply chain operations. She was named Director of Central Logistics in 2004.

"Through managing our Central Logistics function for the past two years, Karen has gained extensive hands-on knowledge of our customer base and the related order receipt, dispatch and load optimization functions," said John Rakoczy, Chief Operations Officer for DistTech. "This firsthand operations expertise, coupled with her proven ability to solve each shipper's unique logistics challenges, will be a definite advantage for our customers as she assumes more responsibility for business development."
