DISTRIBUTION TECHNOLOGIES EARNS HIGHEST SAFETY HONOR FROM NATIONAL
TANK TRUCK CARRIERS
Carrier Improves Safety Performance for Fifteenth Consecutive
Year
Newbury, Ohio - For the sixth time in the past two decades, Distribution
Technologies Inc. (DistTech), an established industry leader in
dedicated and common carriage for liquid bulk commodities, has
earned the Outstanding Performance Trophy in the National Tank
Truck Carriers (NTTC) Tank Truck Safety Contest. DistTech was
selected from a group of 13 carriers that won the Grand Award
in their respective mileage categories for calendar year 2005.
The Annual NTTC Safety Contest honors carriers whose safety management
programs produce exemplary results. The Outstanding Performance
Trophy is presented annually by Heil Trailer International to
the carrier that is judged to have the best all-around safety
program in the tank truck industry during the previous year.
With an accident frequency of only .032 per million miles for
2005, DistTech won the Grand Award in the 35-45 million miles
class in the Competitive Safety Contest and the Improvement Award
in that same mileage category for the Personnel Safety Contest.
The carrier also received a 15-year Improvement Award. DistTech
will accept the awards at NTTC's Annual Conference in San Antonio
May 7-9.
"To win the prestigious Outstanding Performance Trophy for
the sixth time since 1987 is definitely a testament to the intense
focus that our driving force maintains on safety every single
day," said John Rakoczy, Chief Operations Officer for DistTech.
"We're proud of our entire fleet for being recognized as
the best of the best in our industry."
In addition to consistently being recognized by the NTTC for fleet
safety, more than 53 of DistTech's drivers have achieved at least
one million miles of accident-free miles throughout their driving
careers.
