Memorial Award to Rancho Cucamonga Terminal

Newbury, Ohio - Distribution Technologies (DistTech) recently presented the inaugural Michael J. Carter Memorial Award to its Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. terminal. The honor is bestowed upon the facility that achieves the highest levels of customer service, operational excellence and safety during the previous calendar year.

The award is named for Mike Carter, formerly Director, Midwest Operations for DistTech who passed away in 2005 after a spending nearly two decades with the company. Carter began his career with DistTech in 1987 as a driver. Over the years, he worked his way up through the ranks and was promoted to various roles of increasing responsibility in terminal, field and corporate operations.

"Mike was a tremendous asset who possessed extensive knowledge and intuition about our business," said John Rakoczy, Chief Operations Officer for DistTech. "So many employees looked up to him as a mentor because of his hands-on experience at every level of operations. We believe Mike's passion for excellence and vision will live on through this award and serve as an inspiration for the entire DistTech team."

Carter's family, including his widow Kim, son Jeremy, daughter Micah and mother Sally, presented the award to the Rancho Cucamonga facility at DistTech's annual operations banquet.
